David De Gea has won ManUtd.com’s Player of the Month award for successive months after yet more sterling displays in November.

It’s the second time the Spanish goalkeeper has scooped the prize twice in a row after doing the double in February and March 2013. Since his arrival in summer 2011, De Gea has won the award more times than any other player, with seven triumphs in total.

Outstanding performances away at Manchester City and Arsenal last month were followed with clean sheets against Crystal Palace and Hull City. And he has produced yet more heroics already in December with a couple of superb late stops in the 2-1 win over Stoke City last week.

David was delighted to collect his award at the Aon Training Complex this week and would like to thank all the fans who voted for him, beating Wayne Rooney and Marouane Fellaini to top spot in our poll.

De Gea told ManUtd.com: “I have said it before but I must say it again, getting any award from the fans is a great honour. I am very grateful for the support the fans have always given me at the club and I would like to thank them for this award.”

Team-mate Juan Mata was full of praise for his good friend when he spoke to MUTV, saying: “He’s been unbelievable. I remember against Everton [in October], he saved the game for us, and he was also great against Arsenal and City.

“He’s in terrific form, but this is always the case, he’s a great goalkeeper. Big goalkeepers appear when you need them, and that’s what he is doing.”
